Tom Schweich Announces Campaign for Missouri State Auditor

ST. LOUIS – Tom Schweich, a former special U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, will be joined by friends and family this week to announce his candidacy to be the next State Auditor for the people of Missouri.

Schweich is a Republican with extensive financial, legal, investigative, audit, and management experience who has consistently advocated conservative financial principles throughout his many national and global roles. He was first introduced into Missouri politics earlier this year when former U.S. Senator Jack Danforth encouraged him to run for office.

He will begin the kickoff tour in downtown St. Louis on Tuesday, July 7, followed by stops in Columbia, Kansas City and Springfield. Schweich will follow up with five more stops on Wednesday, July 8, in Hannibal, Kirksville, St. Joseph, Joplin and Cape Girardeau.
